Happy Holiday Drink Season! & to all my Chicagoland area friends, I hope you’re keeping warm!
Since the holiday drinks are back, I decided to update this post of my favorite holiday drinks from Starbucks!
Grab a cup of coffee that I’m about to talk about & start your day off right! (or midday) (or evening) (whatever floats your boat)
So, some of you may know this & some of you may not, but I was a Starbucks Barista for over two years before I unfortunately had to leave for student teaching and now my teaching job!
I loved working at Starbucks for many reasons, & I would love to talk about that one day, but one of the main reasons was that I developed a true love and taste for coffee! AND I got to experiment with that while working there! figuring out the best flavor combos, the best low cal/carb drinks, etc.
I am going to share 4 things today: my favorite holiday hot & cold drink that keeps low cal/carbs in mind, & my favorite holiday hot & cold drink that says “idc what’s in it as long as it’s tasty”.
Let’s review what the holiday offers are at Starbucks right now:
**If you click on the name of the drink, the nutritional facts will open in a new tab of a standard Grande (16 0z.) latte made with 2% milk.**
- Peppermint Mocha
- Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha
- Carmel Brûlée
- Chestnut Praline
- Toasted White Chocolate Mocha
- Eggnog
ALL RIGHT LET’S GO!
LOW CAL/CARB
SO! The holiday flavors aren’t that nice to your body. Most of them are filled with sugar & stuff that you want but you think you can’t have EXCEPT Gingerbread! Not saying there is no sugar, but there is FAR less sugar than the other holiday flavors. ALSO! If you get half the pumps of syrup in the other flavors, it’s half the guilt & still super tasty!
With that being said, I usually get a:
HOT:
- Grande Blonde Americano (I like the blonde espresso more since it tastes sweeter and smoother to me)
- With 1 pump of toasted white mocha
- 1 pump sugar free vanilla
- almond milk topper
So lattes tend to be more creamy since they have more milk in them. Americanos are make with espresso & water, but adding the creamy almond milk still leaves that satisfying & comforting flavor.
COLD:
- Grande Blonce Iced Skinny Peppermint Mocha
- Sugar Free Mocha
- Almond Milk
- Half the pumps of syrup
For this one, it’s a latte that uses sugar free mocha syrup! Starbucks does not offer sugar free peppermint, but getting half the pumps still gives you the flavors you want with half the guilt!
So those were the “guilt free options” that I would recommind when it comes to holiday drinks!
Now on to the fun-filled (and not as healthy) drinks!
HOT:
- Grande Blonde Chestnut Praline Latte
- Made with Soy
- No Whip
- Add cinnoman powder on top
This drink is just so cozy. If you like hazelnut, then you’re going to LOVE this drink. It seriously feels like you’re wrapped up on a cozy blanket & watching tv.
COLD:
- Grande Iced Blonde Carmel Machiatto
- Substitute the vanilla with 3 pumps of Carmel Brule
- Made with coconut milk
& that’s that! If you order any of these, post them on your Instagram story & tag me! @annaxmargaret 🙂 I would seriously love that! Also, if you want any other suggesstions, just message me!
One more thing! If you want me to post more about coffee suggesstions, what I drink when it’s not the holiday season, what iced tea, frappacino, vegan options, or just non-espresso coffee I like, let me know! I could talk about this for ages!
I hope you all stay warm and cozy, & if you made it this far in this post, you have no idea how much I appreciate you!
